MY GAY SUMMER : VINTAGE MEN IN SWIMWEAR

That was the summer we met Bob and Pierre

His face lit up whenever we were together

In those days no one thought much of two guys hugging
The best thing about him was he made me laugh
Harry got hard whenever I touched him, I knew it was on
That summer the sand seemed whiter, the sky bluer, I was in love
After that summer, we never parted
The photographer was hot, later we all slept on the beach
I had never felt such sheer joy before I met Jack
I'd just bought his car, his little finger tickled my palm and we never parted after that
We met every summer for passionate nights in our rented beach hut
He loved to surf and he loved to love

There was one section of the beach that was just for us

Fire Island was the place to be seen, the parties lasted days

AT MY DESK : My Vintage Postcards in the mail : Post 1

These are some of my favorites, Nazimova, Brigitte Helm, Ramon Novarro
Josephine Baker and Louise Brooks are highly sought after postcards
Some of my substantial Marlene Dietrich collection, mostly 'Ross'
Rudolph Valentino, Theda Bara and Nazimova.... 20's stars
Lya de Putti, Bebe Daniels, Charles Buddy Rogers 20's greats
I do like postcards of smoking flappers and kitsch lovers
These fantasy cards from Paris are stunning

The great actress Sarah Bernhardt

These were so camp I had to have them
A mixture of postcards that came in the mail on the same day
Flappers with dolls and cocktail bars and hotels  is a favorite theme

I love linen postcards of New York, The Empire State and Chrysler Bldgs
These linen cards is fantastic. I love skylines with blimps & searchlights
Deco styles, blimps, lounges, trains
Some great cards of vintage New York

Posted by PicasaAs a rule I post to a handful of friends any postcards that arrive from ebay each day. I call these posts 'AT MY DESK' and date them accordingly. Ongoing themes include Hollywood glamour and the great stars, 20's stars, flappers, linen postcards of New York, Deco styles, amusement parks, arcade cards, nightclubs, interiors. I have several stars I collect on, and different types of postcards I like, mostly 'Ross' verlag, 'Iris' verlag, Picturegoer, real photo, and fan cards from the studios. Postcards of Josephine Baker, Louise Brooks, Anna May Wong and others get the best prices, followed by Marlene Dietrich, Greta Garbo, Shirley Temple, Valentino, Ramon Novarro and Brigitte Helm. Anything signed is always more valuable.
